What we view as Opposition, God sees as Opportunity

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Matthew 5:9

Having the world at the tip of our fingertips with the explosion the web and social media has provided a platform to spread the Gospel like no other time in the history of man. With the click of a finger we can reach billions of internet and social media users in a matter of seconds, literally instant access to publish the most impressionable and regrettable moments of ourselves for all the digital world to see and share.

That’s a huge responsibility for those of us who represent Christ. Our words have the power to bring life or death, to plant seeds of God’s grace, love, and mercy, or to sow discord among our fellow bloggers, posters, and tweeters. A passageway to the “lost” so often misused that it becomes a cross that all Christians must bear for those who enter into it with an unwise and unbridled tongue.

As a result, a “NEW AGE PHARISEE” has arisen, one that trolls under the pretense of Jesus bickering, arguing, stirring up strife and contention, sharing memes, unkind tweets and posts directed at anyone in opposition; Inadvertently turning away more souls from the Kingdom of God than are gained.

God’s word is clear on this type of behavior, He says “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:44).” If possible, so far as depends on you, live with peaceably with ALL” (Romans 12:18) “.   ALL means everyone, all-inclusive, including those who disagree with us and those who do not share the same politically views, background, social status, sexual preference, sports enthusiasm, hang-ups or beliefs as us.  The good Lord has set extremely high expectations for His followers when it comes to responding to enemies and opposition, and for good reason, not a single soul in heaven or earth has ever been won for the Kingdom of God in hate.

It seems like such an unfair expectation and difficult one to live up to especially when we live in a “free-for-all” society where “anything goes” but what we view as OPPOSITION, God sees as OPPORTUNITY and He promises great reward for those who sow peace instead of contention, He promises the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 5:9).

Prayer: Lord I pray that even with the most difficult people and situations I can view them with Kingdom eyes and not earthly. When I’m put to the test I pray your approval of my response always supersedes any need for personal justification or vindication; And finally, when I fail you God, give me the grace and humility to admit it and ask for forgiveness, not only from you but to all who I wronged or hurt in the process. In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen.
